On the morning of November 18th, 2019, 7 teachers from the Academic Registry came to the Department of Linguistics and had a discussion with all the teachers about the educational affairs, launching a co-construction activity.

Deputy director of the Academic Registry, Ruifeng Wang, issued a comprehensive interpretation of the macro education policy released by the Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Education Commission recently, and attached great importance to undergraduate teaching in colleges and universities. He suggested that we should pay attention to the curriculum construction, strengthen the “connotation construction” of curriculum, improve the quality of teaching, build up excellent courses, and post MOOC online.

The speech of deputy director Xiaobo Li was main about management regulation of the department and three dimensions: administrative staff, teachers and students. He hoped that everyone would be familiar with the relevant regulations of school teaching and administration.

Wenxiu Feng, Wentao Zhu, Baoxia Liu, Jianbing Huo and other teachers introduced the functions of their departments from the aspects of subject construction, teaching operation and textbook guarantee, and detailed the key points of routine work of each department.

At the symposium, Professor Si, head of the Department of Linguistics, said that since the Department of Linguistics established, we has always adhered to the guiding ideology of “undergraduate-oriented”, attached great importance to undergraduate teaching and made it the top priority. In the future, we will further respond to the call of our nation and the university, actively promote the work of personnel training, curriculum construction, teachers’ training and so on under the guidance of the academic registry. We will make full use of the Biolinguistics and Brain Science Lab to cultivate high-quality courses, build characteristic projects, and cultivate first-class linguistic talents.

 During the theme education of “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep our Mission Firmly in Mind”, the academic registry and the Department of Linguistics have established a tight relationship for common construction. This symposium has made all the teachers of the Department of Linguistics fully understand the functions and division of labor of the department of academic registry. The academic registry and the Department of Linguistics formed a partnership and built a new platform for strengthening and promoting the teaching work of the Department of Linguistics and the communication between the academic registry and the Department of Linguistics.
