In the afternoon of December 23th, 2020, the Department of Linguistics held its 2020 Final Summary Meeting at Room 329 of the Administrative Building. All the teachers and students of the Department gathered to participate in the activity with full enthusiasm. Prof. Fuzhen Si, Dean of the Department of Linguistics, Deputy Dean Prof. Zhongru Xiong, teacher representatives Prof. Deping Lu, Dr. Xiaochen Sun, Dr. Wenying Wang, and Xiaoning Cao of the Educational Affair Office, Xue Meng of the Student Work Office attended the meeting.

At four o'clock in the afternoon, the 2020 final summary meeting of the Department of Linguistics officially began.

First, the General League Branch of the Department of Linguistics gave the work report. Student representative of the 2019 undergraduates Tiancheng Cao reported the work overview of 2020. She introduced the general situation of the General League Branch, shared with 2020's activities and achievements of the department, and showed the activity pictures.

Next, the meeting was followed by an important section: the annual prize presentation.

The prize-giving was divided into the following awards: Triple-A Student, Excellent Class Leader, Excellent Team Work Award, Outstanding Media Publicity Award, Outstanding Cultural and Physical Activities Participation Award, Outstanding Academic Activities Participation Award. All the teachers and students warmly congratulated the students who won the awards.

After the prize presentation, Xue Meng of the department's Student Work Office introduced the vacation arrangements and the requirements of epidemic prevention and control.

After emphasizing the relevant issues, it is time for the teachers of the department to send their wishes to the students. Prof. Zhongru Xiong, Deputy Dean of the Department of Linguistics, delivered a speech in which he concisely offered his hopes and suggestions to the students: On the one hand they should have dreams, on the other hand they should be happy.

Afterwards, Prof. Deping Lu, the representative of the teachers, also raised expectations for the students, emphasizing that they should make use of what they learn in university, do well in what they are good at, and make certain achievements.

Dr. Wenying Wang, head of the 19th-grade undergraduate class, shared her experience of planning winter and summer vacations during her college study, and shared two reading notes she made with the students. She stressed the importance of taking advantage of vacations and hoped that they could read more books and read good books during the holidays.

Prof. Fuzhen Si, Dean of the Department of Linguistics, made a final speech, summarizing the previous teachers' speeches and expressing her gratitude to all the teachers and students. She praised the students and expected that they can make joint efforts to build the department with a bright future.

All the teachers carefully prepared the message to students, fully reflected their love and care for students.

Finally, it's the lucky draw section that students were looking forward to. Everyone received the favorite gift.

In a joyous atmosphere, the final review meeting came to a successful conclusion. Through the summary meeting, students can look back on the past and look forward to the future. It is hoped that they can make detailed plans and arrangements for the coming winter vacation and experience a meaningful holiday. Wish they can make further efforts and achieve more achievements in the next semester!
