On 19th, November, 2019, the Graduate School organized the First Graduate Students’ Research Innovation Awarding Ceremony (BLCU) in Yifu Lecture Hall. The ceremony was hosted by Prof. Peng Guo the President Assistant of BLCU, the Minister of Research Department of the Party Committee, and the Dean of Graduate School. The Party Secretary of BLCU, Prof. Haidong Ni, and the vice-President of BLCU, Wangxi Zhang attended the ceremony. The Dean of Department of Linguistics, Prof. Fuzhen Si attended the ceremony and awarded the students.

Ph.D student Fuqiang Li and M.A student Qiangwei Li in the Department of Linguistics were awarded the National Scholarship. Fuqiang Li, as a representative, was invited to give a talk with respect to three aspects, including the platform provided by BLCU, the courses arrangement of the department, as well as his personal development. He also shared his research experience and skills with the students. He mentioned that, the main tasks for a student are to work hard and to pay back our country as soon as possible. And he said that he wants to be a person who is passionate about academics, a BLCUer who is useful to our university; a linguist who is able to make what has been learned be of value; a member of Chinese Communist Party who is socially beneficial and can serve the country.

At the end of the ceremony, the student representatives of the Department of Linguistics attended the lecture given by Prof. Chunhong Shi, entitled Scientific Research and Academic Expression.

spoke on behalf of the national scholarship recipients.
