On the night of November 23th, 2019, the Committee of BLCU of the Communist Youth League and the Student Affairs Office organized the “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind” chorus competition, which was held in Wutong Assembly Hall. Party Secretary of BLCU Haidong Ni, Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Discipline Inspection Committee Secretary of BLCU Guisheng Ma, Standing Committee of the Party committee and Vice President of BLCU, Yifang Huang attended the event.

After nearly a month of careful preparation, the chorus of the Department of Linguistics, a team which participated in the competition for the first time, brought a wonderful audio-visual feast. Finally, it won the Third Prize and the Best Organization Award.

The chorus of the Department of Linguistics consisted of 21 graduate students and 15 undergraduates, making up almost all the students of the department. From the first rehearsal to the final competition, the chorus experienced nearly a month of hard training. Professor Fuzhen Si, Dean of department, offered the professional vocal music guidance in the whole process. Rehearsals are only for singing the high-spirited and moving sound of The Times, encouragement is only for telling our love to the motherland with full of passion, colorful costumes and exquisite makeup are only for presenting the confident appearances of the students of BLCU.

The chorus of the Department of Linguistics was the 10th team to bring out two songs - We are All Dream Catchers and Tomorrow will be Better. The feature of the former song is cheerful and enthusiastic. The feature of the latter song, however, is melodious and fair-sounding.Two different styles created impressive performance.With excellent artisitic skills, the leading singers’singing attracted all the audience. Other students chorused in great passion, presenting patriotism and lofty ambition.  

In this chorus competition, the students presented their motherland with songs, showing the youthful vigor and high morale of the Department of Linguistics, and fully demonstrating the positive and enterprising spirit. Expectations to all the students that they will “remain true to their original aspiration and keep their mission firmly in mind” in the future. Hope that love for the motherland can goes on and the singing can goes on!
