During the period of epidemic prevention and control, online teaching is held in an orderly manner. In order to guarantee the quality of online teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates, the Department of Linguistics held an online teaching meeting via Tencent Meeting on June 1st, 2020. All the teachers participated in this activity. This meeting focused on improving the quality of online teaching, including the use of the online platform, teaching design, teacher-student interaction and so on. At the same time, it makes a beneficial discussion on the coming online final examination.

At the beginning of the discussion, Fuzhen Si, dean of the Department of Linguistics, gave full recognition to the current online teaching performance of all teachers. The smooth operation of online teaching cannot be achieved without the careful preparation of all the teachers. Then, each teaching group had a full discussion on the different characteristics of online teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates respectively. In terms of how to optimize the teaching interaction and strengthen the classroom discipline supervision, each teacher discussed a lot. Under the circumstance of regular epidemic prevention and control, online teaching should be carried out in a continuous, orderly and efficient manner in accordance with the teaching arrangement. Facing the second half of this semester, young teachers offered suggestions on how to adapt to and give full play to the advantages of online teaching, and how to avoid the problems such as fatigue of teacher-student interaction.

Online teaching is a challenge, but also an opportunity. Through the sharing and summarizing of the teaching practice, this meeting will promote the high-quality online teaching of the department.
