On the morning of August 26th, Department of Linguistics held a new-semester faculty assembly both online and offline. Fuzhen Si, dean of the Department of Linguistics, chaired the meeting and laid out the new-semester work arrangements in all aspects. The whole staff of the Department of Linguistics attended the meeting.

Fuzhen Si, the head of the Department of Linguistics, laid out the work arrangements comprehensively. She emphasized that with the normalization of epidemic prevention and control, the promotion of teaching activities as well as the health and safety of all students should be effectively ensured, and any emergencies should be timely reported. The administrative offices should further do the job well in all aspects of the school’s notification and data reporting. The academic affairs offices should practically make arrangements for the online and offline teaching of various courses and continue to steadily advance the key and routine tasks of this semester, including formulating the "14th Five-Year Plan" according to the school arrangements, benchmarking the requirements of standard discipline construction, improving teaching and research capabilities, and preparing for the compilation of “Linguistics” coursebook series.

Zhongru Xiong, the deputy head of the department, highlighted that the faculty and staff should further improve their teaching and scientific research capabilities, pay close attention to the routine application of school teaching and scientific research programs,as well as actively apply for the programs according to standard application requirements. In the early stage of the construction of Department of Linguistics and the growth of young teachers, the whole faculty should devote to promoting individual developing plans and professional construction of the department.

Teacher Xiaoning Cao and Xiaochen Sun respectively elaborated on specific arrangements for students’ return to school and labour union construction.
