Zuming Liang, a 2020 Freshman of the Department of Linguistics, Participated in the 22nd Freshman Spoken English Competition

On 19th   Oct. 2020, the final competition of the Freshman Spoken English Contest was   successfully held. Zuming Liang participated in the competition on behalf of   the Department of Linguistics and gave a wonderful performance on the stage.   At the same time, the teachers and students of the Department of Linguistics   were dispatched together. The head of the Department,  Fuzhen Si , and   the counselor, Xue Meng , were also watching the game on the spot to cheer   for Zuming Liang. The active support of the students from the Department of   Linguistics has also brought about a warm atmosphere on site.

In the   competition, Zuming Liang performed well, especially in the first two rounds.

In the first round of   "Speech as the Voice", his fluent spoken language and vivid   performance were praised "Fantastic speech!". Facing the judge's   question, he responded calmly and gave a satisfactory answer. In addition,   Zuming Liang chose the clips from the movie Detective Sherlock as the dubbing   material for the second round of "Sound on the Scene". The pure   British accent surprised everyone and achieved excellent results in the competition.

The students from the Department of   Linguistics in the audience were extremely excited, holding up the light sign   to cheer for Zuming Liang, and they were as nervous as the contestants   themselves.
