Brief Introduction of the speaker:

Hongyan Liu, professor of Foreign Languages School of Beijing Technology and Business University, researcher of Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Human Language of Beijing Foreign Studies University, master supervisor, Excellent Teacher of Beijing, Famous Teacher of Beijing. She is the member of academic Committee of Beijing Technology and Business University, member of academic Degree Committee, director of Academic Committee of School of Foreign Languages, academic leader. She is also Doctor of English Language and Literature, Research Center of Chinese Foreign Language Education, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Postdoctoral fellow of Lancaster University. Moreover, she is a Visiting Fellow at the National Academy of Social Sciences in UK, visiting Scholar at the University of California, postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Linguistics at Lancaster University, visiting Scholar at the Graduate School of The City University of New York, Aston University, Flinders University and The University of South Australia and has led a teaching team to visit Oxford University for short-term training.

She is invited as member of the International Society of Languages and Communication, Medicine and Ethics, Executive Director of the Language Intelligence Teaching Committee (formerly the computer-aided Foreign Language Teaching Committee of the China English Teaching Research Association) , Vice-chairman of the Business English Working Committee of the China Association of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Enterprises, member of the 2nd Teaching Cooperation Committee of the English Major Group of Beijing, and Director of the English Research Committee of Beijing University; She is also the National Social Science Foundation Communication Evaluation expert, National Social Science Foundation communication appraisal expert, international well-known SSCI periodical “Computer Assisted Language Learning” reviewer. After worldwide competition, she was awarded the National Academy of Social Sciences Award. She is the director of the British National Academy of Social Sciences Project “A corpus-based Comparative Study of speech ability and disorders in Chinese and English patients with Alzheimer’s Disease” , the National Social Science Foundation Project “an on-the-spot study of speech ability in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease” , and the Beijing Municipal Social Science Foundation Project “A study of speech restoration strategies for the elderly in the capital: A multimodal discourse study based on a video Corpus” . She currently directs the National Social Science Foundation Project “A corpus-based Comparative Study of language erosion and brain mechanisms in normal elderly and elderly Alzheimer’s Disease Patients”. She was awarded the two prizes of Beijing Education and Teaching Achievement and the excellent completed study of China Foreign Language Education Research Fund. In addition, she has also presided over the completion of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission’s Talent Program, the Beijing Municipal Organization Department’s Outstanding Talent Funding Program, and the China Foreign Language Education Fund program. She received a grant from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to participate in a major research project.

She has been invited to give lectures in UCLA, City University of New York, Lancaster University, Cardiff University, UCL, University of South Australia and other famous universities and present papers at international academic conferences for nearly 20 times. In recent years, she has published nearly 20 papers, 3 monographs and 2 translations in core journals and international journals, such as Contemporary Linguistics, Technology Enhanced Foreign Languages, Journal of PLA University of Foreign Languages, Foreign Languages and Their Teaching .
