On September 11th, 18th and 20th, 2019, the series lecture “Language and Music Cognition” was successfully held in the main building of BLCU. Professor Christoph Reuter from the University of Vienna, Austria, delivered three wonderful lectures, “The sound of Joy, the Sound of Hardness”; “If Instruments could talk”; “Good Vibrations”.

In the lecture, Professor Christoph Reuter introduced the human auditory organ structure to students, and used with teaching aids to demonstratethe interesting process of sound transmission in the body vividly. Professor Christoph Reuter also used with some modern sound wave analysis technology to show the four tones of Chinese characters in a new perspective.

This series of lectures attracted the attention of teachers and students from both inside and outside the university, which stimulated students’ interest to explore interdisciplinary subjects.
